The human body is a representation of the Universe. It is formed from the energies of the cosmos. We can say that the body is, in fact, a microcosm of the macrocosm—the universe. This body has miraculous properties that connect with the elements of this cosmos. One such wonderful connection is between sound vibrations and human consciousness. This connection is the reason behind the holistic practice of sound healing.
The introduction, to this wonderful healing technique and the healing expert behind it, is what this article is all about. For the less-known ones, Sound healing is a practice that works on the body, mind & soul. With the help of the specially crafted instrument, the sound healing expert generates sound vibrations which helps in healing.
In a world increasingly attuned to the benefits of holistic wellness, sound healing has emerged as a transformative practice. Meet Bodhi Krishna, a sound healing therapist whose journey from Rupam Vaghani to a name symbolizing enlightenment and divinity reflects a profound spiritual awakening.
A Transformative Encounter
Rupam Vaghani has been a spiritual person from the very beginning. Born and brought up in Surat, she was an art therapist before sound healing was introduced to her.
Rupam’s rhythmic journey began in 2015 when she met her guruji, Shri Osho Chetan ji. Under his guidance, she participated in a dhyana samadhi shibir, a meditative retreat. There she unveiled the divinity and potential of sounds. It was here that she received her sanyas name—Bodhi Krishna—marking a new chapter in her life. This name symbolizes enlightenment (Bodhi) and divinity (Krishna), embodying the essence of this work.
“I aim to spread the benefits of sound healing and offer others the divine experience I discovered,” she shares passionately.
The Essence of Sound Healing
At its core, sound healing operates on the premise that sound can harmonize the body, mind, and soul. “Different sounds work for particular body parts,” she explains. “If a client arrives with pain, a certified sound healer knows which techniques and sounds to use for effective healing.”
For the soul, Rupam elaborates, the process involves eliminating negative karma through sound vibrations, resulting in a rejuvenating meditation experience. “Belief is crucial,” she emphasizes. “If you doubt the process, it may not work. But with faith, the results can be magical.”
Ancient Roots, Modern Relevance
Sound healing is not a modern trend but a practice with deep historical roots. Originating over 500 years ago in Tibet, Buddhist monks harnessed sound vibrations and divine energies to heal. As they spread this knowledge through word of mouth, the practice evolved, seamlessly integrating with contemporary wellness therapies.
“Today, sound healing can complement any treatment, enhancing the overall healing process,” the expert asserts.
Instruments of Healing and Various Sounds
Our body is the representation of the entire universe, and to heal different parts of the body we have sound for every element of the universe that is generated by different instruments.
Her instruments are not just tools; they are cherished extensions of her practice. Instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, chimes, bells and many other instruments are used and every instrument has a different sound that works differently for everyone, “Every individual body is adaptive to different sounds. For instance, some people love the water sound, it soothes their soul and is more effective for them while that same sound is irritable for the other person. Same with earth and air sound. As a result of it, I sit with so many instruments in my group sessions, as you never know which sound works wonders for whom.”
Among them, her favorite is the gong. “Gongs represent the sound of the space element among the five elements,” she explains. Her collection includes a set of seven authentic, handmade singing bowls crafted from panch-dhatu, each taking months to perfect. These bowls resonate with the seven chakras, ensuring precise sound waves for effective healing.
“Authenticity is key; fake instruments dilute the healing potential,” she cautions, highlighting the importance of genuine craftsmanship in sound healing.
Tailoring the Experience
Every client’s journey is unique. Rupam begins with one-on-one consultations to understand their healing needs. Using a pendulum, she assesses which body parts require attention. In group sessions, she blends various techniques to create a harmonious experience, allowing participants to express a spectrum of emotions—from discomfort to sheer bliss.
“My first experience with sound healing transformed my life,” she recounts. “On the third day of my initial session, I awoke to a loud sound, and the next morning, my seven-year-old, ear pain vanished. That moment solidified my belief in this practice.”
Our therapist finds profound fulfillment in her work. “When clients share their healing stories, like a cancer patient showing visible improvement or someone releasing long-held shoulder pain, I feel on cloud nine,” she smiles.
However, the journey has its challenges. Initially, convincing her family of the validity of sound healing was daunting. “Eventually, they understood my passion,” she reflects. Additionally, engaging clients who struggle to express themselves poses a unique challenge.
Creating a nurturing environment is essential. “I use candles, fragrant oils, and ambient soundscapes to establish a perfect space for healing,” she shares.
Self-Healing: re-energizing is a must
Bodhi Krishna recognizes the importance of self-care in her profession. “Sometimes, the act of healing can be draining. I meditate and play my instruments for myself to detoxify my energies,” she explains. This self-healing practice, a 30-minute ritual taught by her guruji, allows her to maintain balance and vitality.
Bodhi Krishna’s journey from Rupam Vaghani to a sound healing therapist is a testament to the transformative power of belief, sound, and spirituality. As she continues to guide others on their healing journeys, her work resonates as a beautiful reminder of the interconnectedness of body, mind, and soul. In a world where stress and disconnection often reign, Bodhi Krishna’s sound healing offers a path to enlightenment and wholeness, one note at a time.
