Eat Visor for Mental & Physical Health - Shalini Bansal

Hello Fintess Magazine

The basic of fitness starts with eating right! Hence, HFM decided to get in conversation with a nutrition guru, Shalini Bansal! She is a nutritionist with a strong passion to create one’s food world!

“A child’s first bite is celebrated! Similarly, every bite one takes should benefit the body so that it celebrates every intake of nourishing food.”

She takes pride in educating, inspiring, and encouraging people to make nutritious food to be a part of their very lifestyle, titling her a Lifestyle Designer!

Shalini’s Food Journey

Her food journey started when she was a teenager.

“I am a skinny, spotty skinned and short heightened girl turned to one with glowing skin, good body-mass composition, and increased height. All thanks to the right food!”

She consciously replaced all junk food with a balanced diet, that involved the right proportion of fruits, vegetables, and protein. The radical change in herself fuelled the fire within her and inspired her to further gain knowledge and learn on the subject and help those around her. Now she runs an Instagram page, named Eat Visor helping her followers on the path of nutrition.

Eat Visor is indeed a very unique name, and HFM, as curious as it can be, asked Shalini about it

“Eat Visor is a simple name, with a powerful meaning – to consume wisely.”

In a life full of hustle and hassle, one needs to be wise enough to eat right to live a life full of happiness and good health.

Her secret recipe to cook rapport

Learning about Shalini Bansal, we discovered that she quickly and effortlessly creates a rapport with her clients. So, we insisted she spill the beans!

“Unconditional positive regard towards your client is the key to building a rapport and a lasting relationship that facilitates their food journey.”

She takes notes of her client’s needs, likes, and dislikes along with underlying cultural preferences and habits before designing a diet plan for them. It is designed as per her client’s day-to-day life so that it is easy for her clients to make it a part of their lifestyle.

“I believe that small achievable health target along with a space, where one can share their physical and mental health concerns makes the client confident and comfortable with the process towards a healthier and happier living.”

How to cook a nourished body?

“Each body has its own needs; however, the base mantra remains the same.” Says the wise eating expert. A balanced diet includes carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and lots of water. Variety and experiments with the sources of these nutrients are the keys to making this balanced diet a lifestyle.

But first, it starts with getting rid of the ideology that food items that make a balanced diet are ‘boring’ or ‘monotonous!

“At Eat visor, we share fun food recipes to ensure that our clients are happy and their tummy is full of good nourishing food.”

Optimum eating, not too much and not too little, is another mantra Shalini follows to assure overall balance in her client’s being.

HFM also got a question from a loyal and curious reader, as to whether we should add supplements to our diet? And Shalini, as amazing as she is, was happy to answer.

“Supplements are not the replacement for food but it is to fill in the nutritional gap. For instance, if one is suffering from a deficiency of B3, iron, or D3, one should take in the required supplement for a short period of time.”

The spice called ‘Forte of Eat Visor’

“We focus to improve and enhance our clients' overall health, both mental and physical.” Hence, she crafts the client customized lifestyle program based on her understanding of the bodily needs, and physical and mental concerns underlining cultural and professional bindings.

Step one is to analyse the present body state through blood tests, body composition, and questionnaires. Based on this analysis, a diet is prescribed along with suggestions of various food recipes to make it enjoyable, simple, and fun for her clients to follow.

“We actively propagate the idea of 'Good Food, Good Mood!”

Her clients through their journey play with vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, and come up with new recipes and food talks, making it a part of their lifestyle.
