  5. Sugar in sodas and soft drinks causes leptin resistance
  6. Sodas are addictive
  7. Sodas are a disaster for dental health

Let's talk about it one by one

1. Soda and Soft drinks are high in sugary content

Whether or not you are on diet, you need to take care of your calorie intake every day. Now, soda and soft drinks are loaded with sucrose and table sugar. They don’t make you full but add to your daily calorie intake. Each serving of sugar-sweetened beverages every day increases the risk of obesity. In the lifestyle that one is leading these days, obesity is a disease one simply cannot afford to have.

2. Soda and soft drinks cause fatty liver diseases

Soda and soft drinks are made of sugary contents called fructose and sucrose. Fructose is metabolized only by the liver and consumption of sweetened soft drinks results in the accumulation of fats in the liver. The accumulated fat over time results in nonalcoholic fatty acid liver diseases.

3. Sugary drinks cause Insulin resistance

Sugary drinks and soda make your cells resistant to insulin. The insulin level in your blood spikes as the pancreas releases more to discard glucose from the bloodstream. This causes metabolic syndrome and chronically elevated insulin levels. This would be the leading reason to get type 2 diabetes and heart problems at an early age.

4. Soda and soft drink supplies no nutrients

Our body requires nutrients to perform optimally. But there are no nutrients or minerals available in soft drinks apart from sugar. This way you could never be done with soda and soft drinks but the calorie intake definitely increases by folds.

5. Sugar in sodas and soft drinks causes leptin resistance

The hormone produced by our body fat cells, leptin regulates the number of calories you eat and burn. It changes in response to starvation and obesity and is called the fullness hormone. Sugary drinks make you resistant to leptin, which in turn drives fat gain in humans. Such fats are the most difficult to burn and trigger hormonal imbalance.

6. Sodas are addictive

Soda and soft drinks show the same pattern as junk food. It makes you addicted to it. The sugary drinks make you addicted and you simply cannot get done with this addiction. If not taken care of, this addiction has the same effect as abusive substances.

7. Sodas are a disaster for dental health

The acid in soft drinks and sodas are better known as carbonic acid, makes your teeth vulnerable to decay. The acidic contents in such drinks are particularly high, and when paired with sugar are dangerous beyond comprehension. Over time, regular consumption of plain soda, sodas or soft drinks wreaks havoc on your dental health.

The side effects of Soda and drinking soda are immediate and dangerous to your body. Every bad and intolerable body condition, right from heart diseases to obesity and cancer is triggered by sodas and soft drinks. Whether you are a child, teenager, adult or someone in their forties or fifties, you simply cannot afford to have soda or soft drinks in your diet. If you seek our advice at hfm, we would ask you to simply cut down consumption to zero. Replace the cold drinks with fresh juices when you are having pizza or burgers. Despite not being an ideal option, fruit juices are far better than sodas. No form of sodas or soft drinks or sugary drinks should be entertained by you in your lifestyle.
