"It's about your health, bro, specifically your gut health," Jay began, "I've learned over the years just how crucial it is to take care of your gut. It's not just about what you eat, but how it affects your overall vibe and especially your brain umm.. our brain!”
His younger self seemed intrigued but a bit skeptical, "Gut health? Umm, now what has that got to do with like.. anything?"
“Everything, dude," Jay replied, his tone confident. "Your gut is like your second brain or shall I say the first real brain but never really got that credit and respect. It's the HQ of the brand called YOU, affecting your mood, how you think, your energy levels, and even your immune system. Trust me, taking care of it now will pay off big big time in the future."
Jay went on to explain the importance of maintaining a balanced diet, rich in fiber, probiotics, and prebiotics. He talked about the gut-brain connection and how gut health can impact mental health, stress levels, and even cognitive function.
His younger self listened intently, nodding along like a wise grasshopper soaking in the wisdom of a seasoned guru. "So, what should I do?" he asked, eager to learn more.
"Well, for starters, you gotta ditch the junk food, bro. I'm talking about those greasy burgers and processed snacks and yes, your current favorites like too many goldspot bottles,” Jay advised, as his voice showed signs of mock warnings. "Focus on eating more whole foods—fruits, vegetables, whole grains. Your gut will thank you for it. The “proof is in the pudding And yes homemade pudding is good!”
His younger self raised an eyebrow, a hint of rebellion in his voice, "But what about pizza?"
Jay chuckled, "Ah, pizza. The eternal temptation. Look, I'm not saying you have to give it up entirely. Just maybe save it for a special day rather than making it a blind choice.”
His younger self seemed to mull it over, contemplating a world where pizza wasn't a daily indulgence. "Alright, I can give it a thought and try to set its quota," he said with a thoughtful voice.
"And consider adding some fermented foods to your diet, dude. Stuff like yogurt, South Indian curd yogurt recipe, and for more ask mom. They're packed with beneficial bacteria that can create vibrancy in your gut flora and soon you will see the difference in your mental capacity,” Jay continued, his voice filled with enthusiasm based on his experiences.
Jay laughed, “It might be like an acquired taste. But trust me, your gut will smile and thank you for it."
His younger self nodded, making a mental note to give sauerkraut a chance. "Thanks for the heads up, Jay. I'll keep that in mind. It sounds like I am on the journey to become a superhuman!”
"It is," Jay agreed with a smile. "And hey, don't forget to drink water and chill to keep down your stress levels. It's a biggie on the subject of gut too."
His younger paused as if taking notes and replied, "Got it, boss. Thanks for the tips."
