Chetna Rakholiya is a native of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, and is presently posted in Surat city as PSI. She completed her studies in Bhavnagar.
During her College days, rifles and uniforms attracted her so much that she decided to join Police Force.
As a police officer, she always wanted to devote her career to the women's community.
"I strongly make sure to put extra effort in my job and become a good example to the girls in our society."
After joining the Police force she started rifle shooting. She is a national rifle shooter and won 7 medals, 3 gold, and 4 silver in the past 3 years.
Chetna Rakholiya Hobby
1. Reading Books
Reading books is her main hobby.
"Reading is important because it develops your mind and gives you knowledge and lessons of life. It keeps your mind active and enhances your creative ability."
Rachna even made up a small library at her home.
2. Mountaineering
Her other Hobby is mountaineering.
"Climbing mountains teach you patience, persistence, and gratitude. I always find that every mountain I have climbed has taught me at least one important lesson."
This year she was doing an advanced mountaineering course from NIM Uttarkashi. On October 4th, they were going to scale the Draupadi-ka-Danda-II peak. Unfortunately, around 40 members of her team were hit by a massive slab avalanche, and 29 people were killed in that incident.
"I never expected the loss of my fellow mountaineers with whom I had laughed and clicked pictures until early week. But it was a part of growing stronger and I see it as a process of learning. But I will return to the mountains as it is my passion. I believe there are bigger heights to scale. It’s the sole reason I survived."
